seacast question ?

Heard alot agood things about seacast. But when I talk to repair shops about repairing the transom they recommend to put plywood back in for the repair and they dont use seacast. Does anyone know why?

My guess is that it has something to do with simply not trusting a chemical bond to hold back the forces created from the engine. I won't lie, I thought about that too, when I did my transom, which is one reason I put 1 piece of ply back in. Were I to do it again, I would do the whole thing in seacast though. It's really a lot stronger than I would have ever thought.

Alot of trusted members of this forum highly reccomend the seacase transom repair.

Maybe shops don't find it profitable for them over all the labor involved in new plywood.
