Re: seadeck pads

looks like for swim platforms intigrated to the transom (not bolted on) they range from 190 to 280ish. they have one for the larger version of my boat for 220

i like the looks alot! swim platforms usually collect alot of dirt in the grooves/grit and hurt your bum if you slide on them.

i sent them an email as they state they will send out a free sample. will let you know once i get it.

Yes. Columbus.

Do most of my boating at Buckeye Lake.

I really like the Teak looking opion they offer. I was also thinking about it for my Swim Platform, but I'd have to get a template and have a custom job. (Old Boat)

Whats your primary lake?

Re: seadeck pads

I looked at them and they don't have a template for my boat specifically so I would have to do the custom template method (I think they send a big sheet, I trace my swimplatform, etc). I'm tempted but I'm worried that:
1. slightly off in size would look like cr*p,
2. it will wear and be tough to get off. Any ideas on what happens when someone has to replace/pull it up?

I get the impression they are pretty stout. Likely get 10-15 years out of it (which is longer than a typiical boat engine lasts). You would then just pull it up and use something like goo gone. Take a few hours with a 6 pack of beer and go to work.

Getting ready to order for our boat. Got held up because of some transom issues. Going to get the template done and get it on order. At this point, going with the faux teak. Will probably be around $500 for what we are doing.

Ever stepped on a teak (or any colored) deck with bare feet on a sunny day? Anything that isn't white gets pretty darned hot to the touch. Just keep it in mind.

My understanding and the comments from people that use it is that it doesn't get hot, even in the sun. Our carpet in the boat is dark blue so I know how colors on the deck can get warm.

Re: seadeck pads

I have two SeaDek (www.seadek.com) helm pads made out of the same material (only thicker) for my boat as I spend 99% of the time driving the boat while standing and my feet and legs were killing me. I can't say enough great things about SeaDek. They are terrific to work with and do a great job on creating the product from your template. In my case, I had the Grady White logo cut into the helm pads. They are cool to stand on and very skid resistant, even when wet. They are as advertised.

ShipShape TV (which I watch but can't stand) did a great segment on them (actually a few segments on them). They really make a great product. You will definitely like it.
