I started my boat yesterday evening and the killswitch did not kill the motor... I felt behind it and one of the wires had come off of it is this switch a screw on type of a clip type... How do I get it off and on the wiring part is this switch just wired to the battery??? or where exactly does this switch need to be wired too?

Re: Seadog universal Killswitch

Just learning about these myself. From my understanding, there are two types of kill switches.

1) Kills engine by disconnecting 12V from the ignition switch box. Used on older generation motors.
2) Kills engine by grounding ignition. Used on current generation motors.

Since your motor was still running with the kill switch disconnected, I would assume yours grounds the ignition. Most likely, one side of the switch goes to ground, and the other side to the ignition system.

More details on your motor would be helpful.
