Seafoam use question

Okay. I got the message about running Seafoam through my engine to decarb it. (Kicker-1998 9.9 Evinrude 4 stroke, model E10R4EEB) Main engine is a 3.0 mercrusier (2002) .
Issue: My kicker would not maintain 2.6, but climbs to over 3.3 mph while trolling.
Should I follow the 1 gal, 16 oz seafoam procedure-let in run for 15 min, let it sit, then run it again, (separate tank for the kicker) or should I just pour it into my main gas tank? My kicker runs off the main tank but I can easily run it from a separate tank.
Is this mixture appropriate for this small motor?
Thanks for the help.

Re: Seafoam use question

There are two different ways to use seafoam. One is running some all the time to keep your engine clean and the other is to decarb. If you are going to decarb Deepcreep is better if you can fine it. It is just seafoam in a different form. Do a search on decarb and it will clear things up for you. After that run the recommended amount with your gas to keep it clean.
