I purchased & restored what I believe to be a 1959 12' SeaKing. I found it in a barn in North Central Michigan and had been in storage 30+ years. It's a 2-seat 'speedster' style outboard boat with a long foredeck; aft cockpit and I was told that the boat was originally sold as a kit boat from Montgomery Wards. It was very well-built and in decent shape; came with a '59 Elgin 25 with Canadian serial #. I have been around wood boats my entire life and thought I had a fairly good collection of website resources, but I can find nothing about this boat. Does anyone have any suggestions where I can find out something (anything) about this very interesting & unique little boat? Thanks! -DK

Re: SeaKing kit boat info

by 1959, sea king, boats were built by different MFGRs. aluminum boats, were sold in stores, boat, motor, trailer.

i do not believe they would have been in the kit business then.
