Tashasdaddy gave some good advice to replace my plastic fuel supply tee with brass. Was wondering what I should use to seal the threads tape or dope?

Re: Sealant for threads

What type of fittings.

Tape is Ok for tapered threads joints but caution needed on fuel systems to avoid fragments of tape getting into jets and other places where they would cause trouble. Thread sealing compound resistant to gasoline would be better.

Parallel threaded joints should tighten onto a fibre washer or similar.

Compression joints should tighten onto the olive or ferule with no jointing compound. The threads do not make the joint, only tighten it all together.
Likewise other cone type metal to metal joints.
