sealant recommendations for aluminum trim pieces

As I'm varnishing and waiting, I've been researching how best to reattach some of the aluminum trim pieces. I am assuming 5200 is the typical route, but wanted to check as it is pretty pricey, and some of these fittings use a decent amount of it.
opinions?
BTW, hope its OK to ask specific questions outside of my bigger restore thread..?

Pic and or describe the trim pieces.

5200 is basically permanent. 4200 is semi permanent, it can be removed if needed.

Without knowing what pieces you are attaching it is hard to say.

Most trim pieces on my tinners were put on with rivets.
