Hello,
Has anyone tried the sealant that you put in the tubes? My Zodiac
loses a little air over a 24 hr period and I can't find a leak anywhere. I saw a sealant at West Marine but haven't bought it yet because I wanted to find out if anyone here has tried them out.

Not a good idea, the sealant will clogg up your valves, the reason you can't find a leak is because you have pressure relieve valves .....

I used the west marine sealant with good results. you put it in and roll the raft around to coat the inside. Make sure you clean the values afterwards and stay on top of keeping them clean, but no problem since I did it a couple of months ago.

Re: Sealants

After failing to find my leak despite my best efforts, I bought the sealant from West Marine. $60.00 but i guess well worth it. I can now leave the boat inflated for three days and not lose any air. I did have to clean the valves but it was a 5 minute job. I soaped every inch of the boat and never found the leak. The air loss was minimal in the port side chamber but it was irritating the hell out of me. I must say I think I have the cleanest 27 year old Zodiac around!

P. S. My boat doesn't have pressure relief valves. I could see where that could be a problem if you had them. I put an air hose blowing into the tube to dry the sealant because it will take awhile to dry if it's humid out.
