Hello!
I have recently picked up a replacement gimbal bearing. I understand this one is a sealed bearing, with no grease hole on the outside edge. Any bearings I have changed before all had the grease hole, this is the first time I got one without. The new one was made by Quicksilver, the one in the boat now was GLM aftermarket.
This new bearing comes with a plug to replace the grease zirk on the gimbal housing as well. My question is: Is it really necessary to change the zirk out for the plug? I can't see how this would make a difference. But it makes it difficult should a bearing with a grease hole be installed next.
Thought I would run it past the experts here before I go ahead make the change.
Thanks!
