I have a 1977 115 HP johnson. In replacing the gaskets for the reed boxes and intake manifold, I used the OMC Gasket Sealer (brown with a brush) that I used to fix my water pump. I have since read Joe Reeves post on Gasket Sealant and he says not to use any sealant.

The manifold is bolted together and I'm ready to install the carbs. Will it hurt to have this sealant on these gaskets? I used only enough to hold them in place and I dont believe that there is any sealant in any passageways. I really dont want to take the reed boxes apart again if I dont have to. Pleas help as I'm putting on my carbs tonight.

Jamie White
