Sealing a Hole / Transom titl switch

I am going to drill a hole in the transom for a transom mount remote tilt switch. What should I apply to the wood that is exposed in the hole?<br /><br />-Nate<br /><br />PS, Anyone who has a merc drive without a transom tilt switch and thinks they could benifit from one, the kit is very nice 87-815200A1 I got it for about $41.00

Had one for about 14 years. Best thing since (and even before) sliced bread. <br /><br />I would put a bit of fibreglass resin on the exposed wood.<br /><br />Chris............
