Sealing case halves on 2.4l

Hey guys just finished a re-ring on on an 89 2.4l and am ready to put this thing back together, what do y'all recommend for a sealant for joining the crankcase to the block? Preferably something that can be found at an autoparts store unless it is something that needs to be ordered.
One more thing I have heard both ways, should I loctite con. rod bolts or not. Thanks

two cork strips and tha red gel stuff, Loctite Master Gasket (92-12564-1) around tha outside edges (thin coat)...
a drop of loc tight never hurt anything.. they called for it for years... i used it no mater what "they say".... jmo.
