I have some old motor mount holes I need to fill. I know I read a post somewhere on here about filling these holes and with what and now I can't find it, and the search feature isn't helping me much. Anyone with the link to this or a quick how to. I can figure out how to fill a hole on my own...:D HA HA that statement has possibilities...... Anyways I just need to know what to use to fill and if I can drill through it if need be.

You can....fill them with a dowel and epoxy or just fill them completely with epoxy. You might want to run a drill bit through them to get any crap off the wood to increase the bite of the epoxy.

Many people drive a wooden dowel in that is shorter and cap it with epoxy.

If you use epoxy.... it can be drilled through. Keep in mind that IF it is a somewhat recent outboard that the BIA standard is good from brand to brand on motor..... so many mounting holes match.

Well thank you very much! It was a 1968 so it won't have the standard mount. I appreciate the quick responses guys!

i would use the wood dowel with epoxy. i had to do this on my boat. my holes only had to moved slightly. i tried to fill with epoxy but because the epoxy is harder than the wood it is easy to veer off to the side when drilling new holes.
