firstly ive changed the gear oil in my lower unit on my merc 90 3 cyl today but noticed that there were no seals on the vent screw or the level screw?? is this correct??
also i have been advised that the oil should be coming out of the vent hole?? surely it should be the level hole??

also is there anywere i can get a genuine mercury manual for this engine merc 90 3 cyl 1993, as opposed th a seloc one??

Re: seals and manual

The reason for 2 upper vent holes is Mercury saved $.02 and did not drill a hole between the shift rod cavity and the driveshaft cavity so you need both screws out to get it filled all the way. It should have gaskets on all 3 of the screws. Check ebay or a Mercury dealer some have manuals on web sites.
