My Question is ... the Boat Top's out at 36 mph or so when the 4 bl opens up ... it just seams to make more noise ???? My RPM tack is off but it is screaming .... And I'm getting maybe 1 mile per gal . Is this normal ???? The boat runs Great !!!!! I don't know what the prop pitch is But she come's up out of the hole great .... What do you guy's think ???

Re: SeaRay

My 1983 22.5 SeaRay had a 305 2bl. (merc./alpha). It cruised at 24 mph @ 3200 rpm and went 35 @ WOT which was 4300 rpm (a little faster with less fuel and only 2 people). I never ran the boat at WOT for more than a minute (or less) so I don't know about the economy there. If you want a rough estimate... horsepower divided by 10 equals GPH @ WOT.
So your boat is 225 hp / 10 = 22.5 gph and you cruise at 23 (ish)? Sounds right to me for 1 MPG @ WOT.
Cruise at 3000-3200, it's a way better deal :)
