I need an experts advice. I am looking for an 'impeller' for an engine that says "Sears Forty-Five" on it. I'm not sure what engine it is. What I need is an impeller that will fit it. Anyone have advice on it would be greatly appreciated.....

See if you can find the model number for that outboard. It probably is a McCulloch, but the model number will tell us for sure. It may take a while to hunt down the impeller, but one can probably be found. Still, the model number will be essential.

There should be an identification plate somewhere on that engine.

In 1963, Sears did sell a 45hp model made by West Bend. From 1964-68, the 45hp models were made by McCulloch.

You can research this yourself at:

discount-marine-parts.com

They have a complete listing of Sears outboards by model number and manufacturer. With the model number, you can find the year and who made it.

Finding the parts is another matter, but the same folks might just have an impeller for you.
