sears 9.9 gamefisher ??????

just purchased a small boat with a 9.9 hp sears gamefisher i am trying to find out the year and i am also looking to buy a prop the only thing i have is a model # 217-586251 can anyone steer me in the right direction thanks

If yours is fairly recent, try Mercury dealers. They have parts for Force (Gamefisher) motors. They had tons of stuff for my 1989 9.9 eggbeater.

Thanks charlie looked up on the eska website found out it's a 1982 9.9 how do you like the motor any big problems withit. i have tried to find a prop but can't seem to locate one

also the eska website is saying that it is a tecumseh motor am i correct on that

I have a 9.9 Gamefisher, not sure on the year, but the powerhead is made my tecumseh, the lower unit and leg are made by somebody else. It viberates alot for some reason, but it always has. It's not a bad little motor, but parts for it are on the high side and sears is the only place you can get most of them. <br /><br />Some Gamefishers are made by Chrysler/Force and some are made by other companies, such as Tecumseh. The ones made by Chrysler/Force, you can get parts pretty easily at any local marina, but not the ones made by Tecumseh. You can get some parts for the powerhead from a Tecumseh dealer though. <br /><br />Hope any of this helps.

Glad I could help Caldog.Yours appears to be an earlier model than mine.My gamefisher is the same as a force outboard made by mercury marine.It is heavy but I love it .I understand yours is a little tougher to get parts for.Were you able to order a prop from the Sears website?? Charlie

no charlie. that sears website is great it even gives you diagrams and part # with the cost for each but they don't have the prop the website that mellow yellow posted is great they sell the prop and you could get some good info ,another site i found that also has the prop is <br /> www.certifiedpartscorp.com click on oem categories then click eska and you also get some parts like i said earlier i bought the boatand the motor was sort of thrown in there they could not find the prop so they thought the motor was useless i have a 15 hp johnson i am putting on the boat so i may just buy a prop for the gamefisher and sell it i was just wondering how they are as a motor because this was sounds pretty good
