New to this forum, seems like a great source for information. I just bought a Sears 9.9hp outboard and I called Sears for info on who mfg'ed this motor and what year it was born. All Sears could tell me was it was built in the late 1980's.<br /><br />Can anyone answer a few ???? about this motor;<br /><br />The Model # 225 581991 and serial # 4407.<br /><br />1) who made this motor for Sears?<br />2) what year mfged?<br />3) any good source for prop beside Sears,,,,they want $100, seems a bit steep.<br /><br />Appreciate any help........thanks
<br /><br />It's a 1989 made by Force, formerly Chrysler. Aftermarket parts are available and much more is available thru a Mercury dealer. That's about the prop price I've been seeing. Try Michigan Wheel.
