I have a Sears 9HP Ted Williams model # 574-59740
SN 68600910-2383. Does anyone know when this was made and what the fuel-oil ratio should be? Also anyone know where I can get parts?

You have a McCulloch built motor 68-70.
Fuel mix is 50:1.Some parts may be available at
NAPA.But I have heard they are dropping their Marine products line. And some branches never did
anything with marine products. Sierra products should have the parts. You could watch Ebay for parts and ask at the antique outboard motor club
at: www.aomci.org.

Re: Sears 9hp Ted Williams (fuel-oil Ratio?)

I have the original owners manual for my Dad's '67 Sears Ted Williams 9hp and although the manual doesn't list the ratio, it says to mix 1 qt of oil to 10 gallons of fuel. That comes out to 40:1 ratio. My Dad, however, was using a mixture of 2-1/2 oz of oil and 1 oz of lead to 2-1/2gallons of fuel. Seems a little lean on oil, but has worked the last 40 years or so.
