Sears Eska Cooling?

I have a 1970 3 hp Sears Eska model number 217 58540. I just picked it up from a guy that was going to throw it away. I got it running great. Only question is, how is it cooled? Is it fan, or liquid? It seems to have a water tube that is poking out of the lower unit, so I thought it was liquid. But no water was running out the exhaust holes, and the engine seemed to be gettin kinda hot. So I figure either it's liquid and needs a water pump or impeller, or....... it's fan and it just gets kind of hot? ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

If it has a water tube poking out, it doesn't have an impeller. It won't send water up to cool the exhaust unless it's on a moving boat. The powerhead (Tecumseh lawnmower engine) is air-cooled. It uses water only to cool the exhaust tube so you don't get burned and so it doesn't burn up the gasket between the engine and the mid-section.
