Sears fuel pump

I don't have much info on this motor, so if anyone knows anything please help!!! My friend gave me a motor off of his Sears Gamefisher boat. I believe it is the motor that Sears sold with the boat, I don't know for sure. All the info that I can find on the motor itself is: Chasis# 217/58632-0, Serial# 7K045533---Sears Robuck and Co. There is also a tag on the motor that says: 381L Tecumseh 7014. That is all the info I have. So now the question. The motor needs a new fuel pump. One piece is worn out, and no one seems to be able to locate it. Anyway, does anyone know where to find a fuel pump. What is the horse power on this motor. And if I can't find a fuel pump, can I go to a different type of pump. Thanks for ANY and ALL help. Dan

No, just what is listed above. I'm totaly uninclined mechanicaly, so I haven't tried to do anything with it yet. My friend, who had it before, is good with this kind of stuff and is the one that told me it was the fuel pump. He tried to located parts and failed. That was before he had internet though. I figure now it's a little easier to search nation wide. Anyway thanks for all the help. If you, or anyone else thinks of anything useful (or not) please let me know. Dan

Dan,<br />it's a tecumsah powerhead. local mower/tractor<br />repair place should be able to get powerhead parts.<br />same parts, but "marine" costs more...<br />good luck,<br />M.Y.

Well gentleman, and women, thanks to you I have one heck of a start on this engine!!! Through your help I found that I'm the owner of a: 1977 Sears gamefisher 15hp motor. It needs a fuel pump, Part number 631721. The only trouble I have now is where to find one. I have checked several online suggestions, and none have panned out. If anyone thinks of something new please let me know. In the meantime I'll check local shops. Thanks so much. You all are the greatest!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea what cheap or for that mater expensive is. Any idea what one would cost? A good guess would be helpful!

same tecumsah engine in many lawn tractors.<br />1) get a service manual<br />2) pull the pump and take it down to local tractor<br />/lawnmower repair place. they should be able to<br />match it up.<br /><br />ps. how do know it needs a pump?

My friend said it runs great as long as you continue to pump the pressure bulb. He had it apart and decided the problem was the diaphram. He looked forever and couldn't find one. We figured it might be easier to locate an entire fuel pump. So far no luck with i-net or local mower places. The pump is no longer made by tecumseh. Let me know if anyone has anymore ideas. I would be looking for a pump rebuild kit, not <br />another pump. a bad primer bulb would cause same<br />problem BTW.

pretty sure the motor you have was made for sears<br />by Eska. the link I gave you above lists the<br />diaphram for eska as avail.<br />maybe somebody else can chime in here and confirm<br />this for me??? is it Eska?

Any small Johhny/Rude diaphram pump will work. Just get one for a 15 HP Johnson and hook it up.
