So I bought this Sears Gamefisher 7.5 hp from a friend of my dads about 2 years ago. Ran like a top no issues. I lent it to my friend two weekends ago and he told me the engine started great and ran no problem but didn't stop "the twist grip keeps on twisting" is what he said. So he removed the external gas tank and let it run dead and rowed back to shore. Problem is now I'm left picking up the pieces.
I've narrowed my issue to the linkage from the twist grip to the throttle, as I twist the grip it spins and doesn't catch. I noticed that there is a tiny hole where it appears a pin fits in which presumably catches so the throttle moves. I grabbed a twist tie as shown below and it works with the twist grip.
I want to replace this properly, but don't know the model number or year. I've included some pictures including what I assume is the model number of the tecumseh powerhead. If anyone could help me out so I can order the correct part that'd be fantastic!
