Re: Sears Gamefisher 7.5HP flywheel
The way I get my 7.5 flywheel off is to back the crank nut off till it's flush with the end of the crank, pry up on the underside of the flywheel with a screwdriver, or the handle of my swivel head 3/8" drive ratchet, and shock the end of the crank/nut with a hammer, or a foot long piece of 1.5" aluminum bar stock. Be careful where you pry, though, because the engine's aluminum castings are soft, and you can break cooling fins very easily. It's always bugged me a little to be slamming on the crank end, but it's always worked, and I've never been able to see any problems caused by it.
