I have a sears gamefisher 15hp and I dont know the year. Here are the the numbers:Serial #68017180 Model# 217-586361 I bought the motor for $50 to use as a kicker. The person said it wasnt firing in one of the cylinders. As for as I can tell(by listening) it runs great.Should I test for spark while its running? Also I didnt see a tell tail, does this motor have one? Thanks

Do not check for spark while running it. The easiest way is take out the plugs so its easier to pull over when checking for spark. I dont know if your model has a tel tale.. if not it comes out through the midsection with the exhaust

Do I just leave plugs attached to boots to check for spark when turning it over? Also I forgot to ask does anyone make high thrust props for these motors?

Loggerhead,
Looks like a 1982 Model 15 HP made By ESKA for Sears. Check this site:
And yes, remove the spark plug and put it back in the boot and ground the hex part of the plug where the wrench goes, to the powerhead, and crank it over.

web page

Prop
