I have seen posts about the old Sears Models. I wish I had read them BEFORE I purchased the motor 1 month ago. Anyway, it ran fine at that time but we did not have water available and only ran it for a very short time when I first bought it. Took it out on the water and it would not stay started. Ran for a short while and died. Brought it home, took apart the Carb completely (it was REAL clean) and cleaned everything with cleaner. The motor itself was Real new looking also. Changed the plugs and started it in a barrel of water and it ran great. Took it out on the lake and it did the same thing. Started and died. The fuel line ball pump would not stay hard. Changed that but it did not help. When pumped, the fuel will run out of the port above the prop. The model number is 217/58621-1. Could someone please give me some advice. Thank You, Mark.
