Seaswirl Spyder Sport Questions

I'm new to the forum and a new Spyder 208 owner, the boat is 1991 with 173 hours on the clock, powered by a 370 hp 454, with an OMC King Cobra outdrive, I guess my question is where is a good source to find info on this particular boat, specs and anything I can learn. The local boat shops don't show that boat available with the 454, I'm going to replace the raw water pump and have to take in the old parts for them because they don't list them for that particular motor combo. Seloc Online has very limited info as well, and no part numbers.

I also have a 1991 Spyder 208 with the same problems now. I tried to find a mechanic that said he had OMC experience but found out the hard way that he didn't really and after paying him found out he is now in jail.
The shifting is a definite problem as it sticks in gear and won't go to neutral, and now it started running a little rough at idle speed. What is ESA? You mention the ESA and I think that got replaced but could it be out again? Any ideas how to check to see if it is working properly? Is that causing the engine to choke or be hard to start all of a sudden or vice versa?

Have you any luck so far finding some parts and if so where? I have ordered aClymer repaire manual for yeras 1886-93 OMC to try it myself...tired of getting ripped off.

Information on these boats is very limited. I have a pretty rare version myself. Mine is a true inboard with a Vevet DD.

I have done a lot to it since I bough it in Sept. Ripped it apart in Jan, built a new motor, cut out old dash and molding in new one out of a '05 Seaswirl runabout. Just got painted a week ago, installede dash, and fired it up! Now to finish interior...
