Seats Cracking on 2000 VIP Vixen

Last time I had our 2000 VIP Vixen 2096 out I noticed some small cracks starting in the rear seat. Is there anything I can do to prevent these cracks from getting worse and preventing new cracks from starting?

It looks like the vinyl is starting to see the end of its life. Its from stepping on the seats to get out of the boat. It stresses the seams when stepped on. I would just use it till it starts to look to bad for your tastes. Or just get that part recovered. This happed to a friends boat this year. He just had the parts that were worn recovered. It came out really well and matched almost perfectly.

Thanks for the reply. I figured that was the case. I didn't know if there was some kind of cleaner or polish I could use on the seats to get a little more life out of them or not.

You could try armor all or something to that but the vinyl starts to get hard and cant handle the pressure of foot traffic.

I know this will vary but does anybody have an estimate of what it would cost to have the seat re-covered? It is about 6' wide and 2' deep.

This stuff Dries CLEAR and works, KINDA OK!!! Not saying it is a Permanent FIX but it will KINDA prolong the life and Help keep it from tearing wider. PINCH it togehter as best you can and use an artists brush to layer it on as thick as you can with out runs. Have a Hair dryer handy to get it to dry quickly to avoid runs.
