Re: seats

1/2" exterior ply with 2 good coats of epoxy paint, all edges, will last another 25 years.

Re: seats

the treated chemical used today eats metal fasteners, staples, screws etc. try to find some 5 ply exterior sanded one side. it's smooth and use for exterior finishes. seal it use with a couple of coats all edges, and your good to go. i've reused the foam for many years. to help keep it dry, you can cover with plastic first, and drill a couple of breathing holes in the wood, seal around the hole also. use stainless staples, most good stores have them.

Yeah I would paint them up, or better yet, resin them up and then paint them. You will be good to go either way.
