Secondary Bilge Pump Mounting - Angled ok??

I am mounting a secondary/backup pump in my Bayliner 175. Space under the engine is tight, I bought a Johnson 500gph and was planning to mount it to a piece of plastic then stick it down to the bottom of the bilge with some super Marine adhesive.

Turns out there is really no way to mount it level because of the V design of the hull...is it OK to mount these things on an angle - ie: angled with the bottom of the bilge?

Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated...

I wouldn't see any problem with it as long as the cutoff switch is set correctly. being at an angle the switch needs to cut off when the water is at the high side of the pickup for the pump or it would suck air and risk burning up the pump. The pump wont get out as much water as if it was flat but if its just a secondary pump that should be no big deal

I would just set it as low as possible and keep it level. If it did not get the last inch or two should not be a big deal. A 10 or 15 degree angle would not be bad but more than that and you will have issues with sucking air as previously described or failure to shut off.

Guys - thanks for your replies - I ended up measuring the angle of the V - about 20Deg - and cut a wedge of cedar. Screwed the pump to the cedar and stuck it down with some 4200 - that is great stuff. I know the cedar will not last forever but I don't plan on owning the boat forever...

Thanks

Looks like the right move to me, while it may not get the last drop out, it will prevent any serious issues.
