Just had to tell everyone that today at the lake that was recently stalked my family knocked the planters dead. People lined the bank, we caught our limit in about 1 hour while everyone else around us didn?t even get a bite (boat wont start, I am working on it) literally not a bite! Smallest 11" one fat whopper at 15". The secret, well if I told everyone it wouldn?t be a secret anymore. I can tell you that this secret bait has worked for years in the same manor from boat or shore.

I will be thinking of all of my fellow fisherman tonight as I BBQ, through back some Heineken and feast. Cheers!

Re: Secret trout bait

I have had guys tell me they spray WD-40 on their bait for catching walleyes. They say it works great. I've never tried it.

Not from the bank next to other fisher men.Everybody would have caught a few floating around, besides, you need an accellerator.

Hot dogs, salmon eggs, crickets, mealworms, dog food, trout pellets, power bait, crayfish, cheese, garlic, or gummi worms?

Re: Secret trout bait

Okay about 20 yeas ago + (confession )we were using dynamite by a quarry that was flooded. We tied a stick on a 4' rope tied to a block of wood so we could see the water spout...... ka-boom ...... well, the timing must have been right because we had about 15-20 fish floating. The guy with me pointed them out and said... "look at the fish....they are stunned" Trust me they were not stunned

OK, so alaskanassasin made some good guesses but not the right ones. It is a simple bait in combination with marshmellows or power bait anything that will make it float off of the bottom. Everyone has access to it, it is not mixed like a dough.

Ultimately when revealed, you all may think it is no big deal, but I assure you when fished with, it is the ultimate trout killer!

Re: Secret trout bait

I use to use aged marshmellows small ones, night crawler, and squirt of wd-40.
When I was a kid we caught lots of trout on this type of rigging from the bank.

I once heard velveeta cheese heated in combo with marshmallows to make a paste that can be formed into gobs.

Never tried it though...

Re: Secret trout bait

caution this could be a scam to get all of us to give up our secret fishing baits with the hope to get an even better secret bait.
I all ready gave up mine for rainbow trout.
I have tried cat food but could not get it stay on the hook. The bait they feed hatcher trout smells like cat food to me.
I guess you could mix canned cat food with something to create a paste that would stick on a hook. I think I am going to try it. Anyone already a receip for the mixture.
