My boat was taking on alot of water (about a gallon every 10 minutes) I took the boat out of the water and discovered that the drain plug housing (the metal sleve that fits into the trasform, that the plug goes into) was extremely loose, I was actualy able to pull out the whole sleve with the plug still in. I was wondering what to use to hold this in, Is there some kind of water proof epoxy that will hold metal to wood> I was thinking about putting seal all around it putting it in and going inside the boat to the back of the plug and bending the end out with a hammer? But if there is a epoxy i don't know about i would prefer to use that.

They make a tool to create the flange on the inside once you install the brass tube.

They also make ones that are threaded and have a flanged nut to secure it in place.

You can seal either with calking but the bad news is that water has already gotten into your inner transom. Try to dry it out as best you can ASAP.

If this is a new boat I'd sure recommend taking it to a dealer!

Good luck!
