I am in the process of installing an alarm system for our new office. Its pretty simple a couple of PIR's and a indoor and outdoor siren \ strobe light and phone dialler.

Without reading the instructions (as I never do) I have mounted one PIR facing the glass (actually at 45deg because its in the corner of the wall) front door \ window as I liked the idea of it being easily seen from outside, its a good size section of glass probably 6' x 6'.

Outside the window is sheltered by a verandah and there is a bit of furniture down low and some sign writing on the window. The window faces south, that is away from the sun in this part of the world and you cannot see the sky for other buildings next door.

I understand its unlikely for a person or an animal to set off a false alarm from outside, however I am curious if anyone has come across problamatic false alarms from reflected light, car headlights etc?

Anyway, the thing is almost in, I will get a chance to see how it goes later in the week (when the neighbours have gone home for the day).
