Love my new pontoon boat, except for the bird droppings left for us. Does anyone have a good tip for keeping the birds away?

Thank you.

Fake owl. Birds are scared of owls. Spend a little extra and get one that moves to be the most effective. If the doesnt work, let me know what kind of bird or show a pic if you dont know. Different species have their own behaviors. Owls will scare almost everything away though.

Erica, A lot of the condos that we stay at in Florida use MonoFilament line above their pools. The birds see it and are afraid to fly around it. If you store undercover install some above your boat, just criss cross it above boat.

We have an owl on board. Before we had the Owl we had an unbelievable amount of bird crap on the boat. Since the Owl we have nothing. Oh we did have one dropping on the Owl last week. Must be a smarta(8# bird. I have the stationary headed one. Move it from side to side every few weeks. Works for me.

I see a lot of the boats at the marina have some sort of glittery plastic hanging from the bimini tops.
I am thinking this is to scare the birds away. Regards, jim

Some of the people where I hang out on the Colorado River use old CDs (music, not bank) hanging around their boats to keep the birds off. That seems to work better than fake owls. Most of the birds seem to think the owls are targets.

I have had great success with Havahart's bird repellent. This was the only product that got rid of all the birds.
