last fall I installed a new lower bearing in my '79 V4. I put everything back together by the book ie new retainer bolts, seal, o-rings, etc.

I tried to start the motor over the weekend. Used fresh fuel. The motor sputtered to life once, briefly, and after that I couldn't get it to do much more than cough a little and backfire out the exhaust.
I pulled the plugs and they were soaked with fuel. I aired things out, cleaned the plugs and tried again. Still no luck. When I tilted the motor up for the trip back into the garage fuel rolled out of the air silencer.

Is this problem related to something I did wrong installing the new bearing? I've removed the carbs and have started to look them over but I'm wondering if I should pull the powerhead. The motor ran great just prior to the bearing replace.

Any thoughts?
