Hi,
I have a 1982 Sea Ray with a 1986 3.0L motor. I swapped out my 2.5L with this 3.0L. Upon starting the motor up with the outdrive on, I think I ruined the outdrive, as I ran it for about ten minutes without any oil in the outdrive. ARGH! I still need to replace the outdrive anyways, as it is old, original Pre-Alpha that came with the boat. I have been looking around, and found an "American made" unit made by SEI Outdrives in South Carolina. It is priced at $1,195. What do you guys think about this unit? It is "American Assembled" with Chinese parts? Any advice on this would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks!
Ryan

I've installed a couple - they are great units. Well worth the money. They are even sold here on Iboats.

I've installed one too, as far as I can tell a very good option.

Anyone had to buy and parts for one yet? Thats the main thing that kept me from buying one when I was looking for a new drive.
