Just thought I?d update everyone on my outdrive woes of a couple months ago. Based on some discussion here, I decided to go with the SEI complete replacement unit, rather than have my Alpha 1 upper unit rebuilt. I must say I am more than satisfied with this unit so far. I managed to order it, receive it and install it all in the week prior to my summer holidays! And all without blowing my vacation savings. It was a simple install; everything is pretty much identical to the Merc. Break in period was painless, after a week of that I changed the oil and was off and running. No issues with the SEI product at all, and although it has only 40 or so hours on it, 2 thumbs up for me. (and no, I?m not affiliated with them in anyway, just a happy customer!) So thanks all, for the comments and advice pointing me towards this company.
