sei upper gear case

I am replacing a mercruiser alpha one upper gearcase with an SEI. What do I need beside the gearcase and what is involved in the replacement.
I already have the seal and gasket kit. Do I need any special tools,etc?

It's a straight forward swap. Very easy. No special tools required. I have replaced a couple on different boats over the years. Great product. You will need to swap the intermediate shift shaft over, but otherwise, it is as simple as bolting the new one on.

Here's what it looks like when you get it out of the box:

Of course, you mention you already bought the seal and gasket kit.... if you bought the complete install kit from Sterndrive Engineering, then you will get a new shaft:
