Among those ads are some "select pre-owned" model year 2009 Yamaha's and Merc's.
These ads go on to say the warranty is good until June 2010.
I am in the market for a Yamaha and made the call to Iboats to inquire.
What I was told is.....these motors are used on the big Canadian lakes by resorts and lodges for ONE season and then returned. Typically with over 500 hours use.
Just last night I was talking to a guide, who operates on these big Canadian lakes.
He told me.....these resorts/fishing lodges lease motors every year and are used in the fishing charter business on the lakes.
Ran hard, put away wet and more often than not, operated by "natives" who could care less about any breakin procedure, when aquired new.
"Stay away" was his advice.
Would anyone have any further information they would like to share?
