This is the picture of the dash on my 1970 Slickcraft SS-235. I'd like to remove the gauges, peel away any of the wood veneer, and replace it with some aluminum oe stainless steel sheet material with a brushed finish. Ideally I'd like to find something that was with an adhesive back to it. I would need a semi-thin gauge, as I want it to be easy to conform to the angles of the dash. Does anyone have any recomendations for me as to what product to use, or where I can find metal to do this with. If someone has a totally different idea, I am open to that as well. My dash just looks terrible now, and I want it fixed/changed. Thank you.

Check with a local air conditioning/heating shop for sheet aluminum. It can be held in place with a good contact adhesive and you can get a brushed look with a little bit of work with 100-120 grit sand paper and a sanding block. Nice thing about doing it that way is you can make sure it fits like you want before its adhered in place.

Check your local sign shop. They should have or at least be able to get vinyl that looks like brushed aluminum. Cheap and easy.

Here is a couple of examples.

And a How To using Carbon fiber vinyl but you get the idea.

HomeDepot and Lowes both carry thin aluminum sheet that can be cut and glued on with a spray contact adhesive.

Although I would suggest something other than aluminum, because it gets crappy after just a few years. There are heavy gauge self stick plastic veneers that look like wood that would replace what you have there and make it like new. Probably would last longer than aluminum. Check out the home centers or search online.
