Just notice the Self-test is not buzzing for the 1/2 second it is suppose to.
I have checked the purple wire for 12v and it is there.
I have grounded out the Tan wire and it sounds the buzzer.
Check all sensor and they are functioning properly.

But when the ignition is first turned on it does not sound.
Anyone have any Ideas.

Thanks
Chad

The self-test is run by electronics inside the horn module and they need the black wire grounded to work. If the ground it good and it still don't beep, you need a new horn since you said the purple wire has 12V at the horn's B+ terminal.

I know that the 3 wire buzzer does a self test.
Does the 2 wire do the same self test.

The only 2 wires on the buzzer are purple and tan

I don't think the 2 wire have a self test. Go back to the engine and find the connector at the temp sender, tan wire, turn the key to ON and ground the tan wire, the horn should sound.
That is the sound you will here when your engine overheats, as long as your sensor is working correctly.

The System Check Tach should be generating the 1/2 sec buzz, at power up. You may test for the pulse of power to the horn, at power up, but I would be surprized if you find it.

I suspect the Tacho circuitry is going bad. The question is if that part of the circuitry is bad, is the rest still working perfectly? For example, some of the alarms buzz for a second or two, and the just the light illuminates(like low oil).

If this is a System Check system with the correct wiring harness, the tach is bad. I have post here with wire colors and how system should work.
