I have a 1968 Johnson 65 hp with no lower unit and the drive shaft has been removed. Can I run this for a min or two out of water to sell, or will I be damaging it? Any suggestions on how I can show people it runs?? Thanks!
Sure, a couple of minutes is not a problem. Does it still have the water tubes? If so, put a garden hose on the water tube, and run some low pressure water thru the block. You can run it all day like that.
Chris1956 it does have the water tubes 2 of them to be exact, which one should I run the hose in?? Or do I have to do both of them? its a 1968 65hp Johnson.
One of those tubes is the inlet, one is the outlet. I would choose the front one as the inlet, and use that one, although they are connected together when the 'stat is closed..
