Hi everyone, I have a 1990 Force 50 hp outboard that has a serious bogging problem from 3/4 throttle and up. When starting from a dead stop it will accelerate until it hits approx 3/4 of top speed and then hesitate for about 30-40 sec's and then clear out and run fine. This happens every time and does it when the engine is hot or cold. It starts great, idles great and when it finally hits top end is fine after that. The fuel supply line seems to be in good shape but the bulb sometimes won't fully expand out again after I've squeezed it. The carb is clean and the plugs are new and so is the power pack. Any help would be appreciated and would also help my wife understand why I have this Maxum in my driveway.
Thankyou Captain G

If the bulb doesnt expand there may be a problem
with your tank vent (Be sure it is open and working) or the dip tube in the tank.
Next time it does its trick poke the choke
if it helps, your starving for fuel.
If fuel supply to carbs seems good they may need dissasembly and cleaning. You could try carb cleaner in the tank and sprayed in the carbs.
Good luck.
