I got a mercury 40hp 2 stroke 4cylinder outboard, the Sticker that is suppose to have the serial number is unreadable, it was located on the trim bracket. Is there anywhere else on the engine that it may be stamped in? My guess by looking at others paint designs, is mine is around a 1996.thanks for any help.
