My 1992 Johnson 25 hp outboard motor was stolen several years ago, when recovered by police, the person who stole it "popped" off the plate with serial/model no. Where else on the motor am I able to locate the serial/model no? Thanks.

Re: Serial/Model Number

Evinrude/ Johnson motors have numbers on a soft plug(freeze plug) on the powerhead.

Some older motors have a freeze plug on the powerhead with that info. Its about the size of a nickel. I'm not sure if '92's have one, but worth checking.

Thanks. I found the no. G3316513, but doesn't know how that relates to a 1992 25hp Johnson Motor.

Re: Serial/Model Number

That's probably the serial number. You'll have to go to a dealer to cross-reference it to a model and year.

Re: Serial/Model Number

That's not a serial number, its probably a part number of the part you were looking at. You might not be looking at the freeze plug. Your model number should be in the format of 25XXXX, with the x's designating shaft length, elec or manual start etc.

Take another look.
