Not all serial numbers are listed on line, particularly if you have a non U.S. sold motor - Canadian models often don't show up. When that occurs, I try to compare the appearance of an outboard with other pictures of an outboard on line. That usually lets me get pretty close to a year, and from that I can find a parts diagram.
