Serial number on Johnson OceanRunner 200

Hey guys, I have a Johnson Outboard that I need to get the serial number off of but the sticker on the mounting bracket where you would normally read the serial number is extremely faded and the lamination that was on it has almost completely peeled off. Needless to say 15 years of outdoor exposure has messed it up but it doesn't look to have been tampered with so i'm not worried about it's legality as was my original concern when not able to read the numbers. I have always heard that the serial number is stamped on the block as well but I have looked it over the best I can and can't seem to find another serial number anywhere. Can anybody tell me where I need to be looking? The motor is a 96 model.

Look for a welch plug centered between the cylinder heads.
