OK......... time for me to play the "fishing game".

Some dear old friends up north have an old party barge with a venerable Merc 4 cylinder 44ci "super thunderbolt" powerhead. They want me to rebuild the carbs the next time I visit up north. OK.

All I have is the serial number, 14707432. That's all I can be sure of. I've only seen the motor once, years ago, they read me the serial number over the phone.

I *think* it's a 40hp, I think it had ADI ignition, I *think* it had carbs other than the old style side-bowl Tillotsons. I think it's late 70's. hehhe

Anybody know the correct part number for the carb kits? For sure?

-W

Re: Serial Number Question........

Is it possible the 1 is a scratch, making it 4707432, for a '77 402?
