I'm new to this board, and I know this has been hashed out before - but if you would humor me once more... I grew up behind a Mastercraft, but that was several years ago - are they still the best? What else is out there? Probably buying slightly older boat. Inboard only. Trying to keep the cost down to around US$10K. Thanks everyone.

Comp boats are very expensive. 10k is probably going to get you a nice late 80's boat or a early 90's boat with lots of hours. Mastercarf does make awsome boats but i think they are a little overpriced. Most of the big names in the comp boat world are fairly simular. I personaly like the Ski Centurions to the Mastercrafts. They both have the same motors but the fit and finish on the centerions was a little nice from what i have seen. I have a good friend that has a 85 Centreion Tru Trak II with almost 800 hrs on it. Runs like a top.

Good Luck.

Chris

That's kinda my plan. I've always bought older cars with lower miles and paid a lot less, so my goal is to do the same here. I'm also patient and do my due diligence. What should I look for as far as problems with an inboard? And if someone could make a comparison between hours and mileage, I'ld appreciate it.
