Anybody got a good suggestion on a service manual for a force 125 to buy. Year is a 1987. Model # is 1254X7B. Looking for one that is easy to follow or are they pretty much all the same. Also when it comes to changing the impeller. Do you usually buy the kit or just buy the impeller and change that? Kind of new at this.

Re: Service Manual

rl29,

The largest 2 brands out there are Clymer and Seloc. I generally prefer the Clymer manuals but both are good.

Here is a link here to Force manuals:
http://www.iboats.com/boatproducts/mallsearch/force_manual/

Most manufacturers recommend that you change the impeller every season in order to avoid costly repairs. I've read a few posts here where some people feel differently but I say a replacing a cheap part is good insurance against spending a few thou on a powerhead.

I've never bought a kit. You may want a little soap and/or marine grease on hand though. Read your manual on that, I'm not used to Force engines.

sloopie
