How long should an annual service take to complete on a 5.7 litre Alpha 1 by a dealer with no problems and how much. I'm in Australia. I just want to know an average price. It's my birthday today. I used to be an outboard man, I love my new boat, so does my family. I've ordered a manual, is there a pick-up-water in the leg?:D

Yes, the raw water pump is in the drive...

Depends on what one considers annual. I do my own maintenance and my annual is changing oil, going through all ignition components, pulling drive to check for water intrusion in drive bellow, changing drive oil, pressure testing drive, check engine alignment, checking gimbal bearing, checking U-joints and reinstalling drive.

What about you giving it a go and trying to do the annual? Great people here to help and the satisfaction of doing it yourself is rewarding.

Do not know what year the engine and drive is or I could give you the link to the exact digital manual.

Here is Don's link to the manuals so you can choose appropriate.

Follow manual instructions and if have problems do a search in the forum. Still confuse drop a post.

Hope this helps

Re: Service

Hi DTM,

Given that there is nothing unusually wrong with the package, expect to be up for about 4-6 hours labour, some engine oil, gear oil, spark plugs and a few filters.... In Perth that could amount to around 800-1000... A serious rip-off in my opinion.... and that's why my boat has NEVER been to a mechanics shop...

Hope that helps some,

Chris.......

P.S. Happy birthday :D:D:D:D
